dc.description.abstract Background: As a major virus outbreak in the 21st century, the Corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic has lead to unprecedented hazardous to all individuals’ health globally. The perceived long-term effect of COVID-19 has becoming a great burden particularly to the recovered individuals and in our weak health system in general. Objectives: To assess the long-term perceived effect of COVID-19 among people who recovered at Eka kotebe General Hospital,Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2021. Methods:a cross-sectional study was conducted in patients who were registered in Eka kotebe general hospital. A pretested structured questionnaire used to collect information from 370COVID-19 recovered individuals. Then disease recovered patient those who have any health problem perceived to be associated or aggravated by COVID-19.Finally, the collected data coded and entered into Epi-info version 7.2.1.0, cleaned and stored and exported into SPSS version 23 for analysis. Result: From all study participants, 57.3 %( n=212/370) of recovered individuals had perceived long-term effect of COVID-19. The main reason for exposed to long-term effect of COVID-19 were Age(p-value <0.001; 95% CL; COR 3.61 (2.51-8.42), co-morbidities (P-value<0.01; 95% CL; COR 0.83 (0.22-0.97) and aggravating hypertension and diabetes mellitus (p-value <0.01; 95% CL; COR 0.44 (0.31-0.69). CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION: The perceived long-term effect of COVID-19 were significant problem of the community those who living in Addis Ababa. Age and co-morbidity status was the main reason for developed the perceived long-term effect of Covid-19. Create understanding about the long term effect of the disease in different health facility level, government level and any responsible agents should be kept to help motivate the public to take the disease more seriously, to prepare the health system and support the people needs.....................
