Ethiopia, a Sub-Sahran developing country with a population of more than 110 million has
been implementing reforms in the health sector since 1991. Four successive Health Sector
Development Strategies(HSDP) were implemented, primarily focusing on increasing physical
access to health services. Following this the first health sector transformation plan was
implemented with the main focus of quality improvement in health care which is also the main
focus in the second HSTP. The Ethiopian Health Center Reform Implementation
Guide(EHCRIG) has played a pivotal role in realizing the quality improvements efforts
particularly in health centers |
