dc.description.abstract In the past two decade, Ethiopia has shown significant improvement in reduction of maternal and child mortality. The Reports indicated that the rate of maternal mortality ratio in 2000 EDHS was 871 per 100,000 live births and it is declining to 412 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2016 Total fertility rate fell from 5.5 children per women in 2000 to 4.6 in 2016 and infant and child mortality rates dropped considerably. Contraceptive prevalence rate increased from 6% (2000) to 41% (MEDHS, 2019)and unmet need decreased with more than one in four (22%) in currently married women. Addressing access, availability, and utilization of sexual reproductive health service including comprehensive family planning services would contribute to lowering maternal mortality and improving maternal, newborn and child health. As part of FMOH plan, MCHN directorate bring its attention to increase access and use of high-quality Reproductive Health (RH) services to all women, couples, adolescent boys and girls. Towards this end, the MCHN directorate has been playing a leading and coordinating role in the development of standardized competency based in-service training packages on RH services including strengthening the national in service training systems en_US
