Adolescence is a critical period of transition between childhood and adulthood development
characterized by significant physical, psychological, and social changes. These transitions carry
new risks but also come up with good opportunities to positively influence the immediate and
future health outcomes of young people. It is recognized that the positive investments on
adolescents and youth has triple dividends of benefits for adolescents now, for their future life
and for the coming generation. These investments are critical to achieve the SDGs by 2030 and
realize the concept of No one leave behind that the county committed. To realize these
commitments, the Ministry of Health, Maternal and Child Health Directorate has been striving to
improve the lives of children, women and adolescents and youth through developing several
strategic documents, guidelines, protocols and jobs aids that support regions, health care
providers and other stakeholders provide quality health services through the entire health
service outlets. |
