Abstract:
Background: Modern medicine encourages patient involvement in shared decision making paradigm in an optimal care. Whereas the practice of Anesthesia embraces a distinctive feature of informed consent which is a prerequisite of shared decision making principle that holds patient feedback at its core to ensures safe anesthesia delivery. Limited anesthesia knowledge and attitude among surgical patients prevalent nationwide. Distinctive factors were depicted in the literature in causing it. This study assesses the knowledge and attitude towards Anesthesia and associated factors among adult elective surgical patients in Saint Paul’s Hospital Millennium College.
