Abstract:
Background: Healthcare professionals are exposed to continuous engagement in helping others. The chronic stress in health professionals can be emotionally draining and poses a risk of ‘burnout’ syndrome. Burnout syndrome is defined by as a presence of increased feelings emotional exhaustion, development of negative and cynical attitude towards clients (depersonalization) and negative feeling of personal accomplishment. In Ethiopia, only limited studies are conducted to assess the magnitude of burnout syndrome among health care workers.
