dc.description.abstract Workplace violence is a pervasive problem among the healthcare sector worldwide and the Emergency department is one of the highest affected settings. Workplace violence (WPV) not only affects the performance of healthcare providers, but also leads to acute and chronic physical and psychological consequences which could lead to burnout, decreased work satisfaction, and the decision to leave the profession. There are few studies published that were done in different settings in Ethiopia that explored the prevalence of WPV but none was done in hospitals in Addis Ababa. en_US
