Background: Antenatal care is a medical and general care that is provided to pregnant women
during pregnancy in Ethiopia as well as in the world maternal mortality high. Problems mostly
occurred due to pregnancy related complication because of lack of adequate antenatal care
service.
Objective: Assessment of knowledge, attitude and practice among pregnant women attending
ANC at Dolo ado health center, liben zone, Somali regional state of Ethiopia.
Methods: Intuitional based descriptive cross sectional study was conducted among pregnant
women attending Dolo ado health center from October to November 2018 a total 409
respondent, women were selected based on systematic random sampling technique after
estimating of pregnant women who are coming Dolo ado health center and there were
interviewed by using interviewer administered questioner. Data was entered EPI Info 7.2 and
exported to SPPS 20 for analysis.
Result: majority 53.2% mother showed they don't know antenatal care and rest 46.8% know
antenatal care. About 43% mothers showed they have good attitude about antenatal care and
rest57% poor attitude. While 62.1% showed their practice good about antenatal care and rest
37.9% poor practice
Conclusions and recommendation: Attitude and practice for pregnant women on antenatal
care showed in better position but the knowledge was poor, further research recommended to
identify factor associate knowledge.
